About Arthur Josephson

Leadership and learning consultant, life-long student, occasional philosopher, poet and photographer.

Currently, I’m the Training and Leadership Manager for the not-for-profit educational start-up Teach For Australia. In this role I’m responsible for the content of the leadership program through the two year placement, during which high potential Associates teach in educationally disadvantaged high-schools around Australia, and for the long-term impact of Teach For Australia’s Alumni on the education system.

Originally from Sydney, I moved to Melbourne the long way- over seven years, working and traveling through 40 countries including stints in Dublin, Johannesburg, Rotterdam, Alexandria and Amsterdam. I spent three years leading a youth development NGO (AIESEC) becoming an International Director, two as a leadership development consultant in the global HQ of a financial institution (ABN AMRO), and another leading a design studio team for a development consultancy (Executive Learning Partnership).

About reframe

reframe is a collection of intriguing pieces I picked up along the way. The red thread that runs through, what may seem like an eclectic mix, is the act of “reframing” or seeing things from a different perspective. This may take place in a physical reframing as in photography, or it might be through philosophically, politically or historically reframing an issue into a new context. Furthermore, I feel that essence of my professional work, in leadership development and learning, involves the continual expanding and reframing of one’s views of the self, of our collective organisation, and of our relation to the ecological landscape.

A word frequency cloud of everything written in this blog gives a lovely dadaist juxtaposition and just a hint of the themes explored on reframe.
